1st thing to know is that a towing rope/strap isn't suitable for RECOVERY. Check that there is a label with a safe working load )SWL) stated on it. Not a breaking strain or max load rating. . as a general rule of thumb proper rated lifting slings and straps have a safety factor of 7:1 so a 2Tonne strop will have a breaking strain of 14tonnes (approx)
A towing strop is just that for towing a vehicle on the road.
My towing strop works ok for recovery.![]()
I can vouch fer most of yer strops.....plus mine![]()
5 MTS X 24 MM NYLON RECOVERY / TOW ROPE WITH SHACKLES | eBay
This is what I use. Seen so many strops break. A rope will shred before it snaps so you have a warning. I've got a 8 metre rope like this one. Had it two years and have given it some stick. Still like new after a good wash.
best place for straps is danmar webbing they make any size and tonneage to order next day delivery i just got an 18metre 9tonne strap off them
