how do i wire this up so that the switch operates the interior fan on a medium setting??? can be high setting but i didn't want to wake the neighbours.

the switch is s1/s2 on the fan but this relates to normal fans but can i use relay k3 to run power to the fan by cutting the fan possy lead and running it through the relay which when off will revert the fan back to the car to control or will this fry the becm???? or am i a fu king maniac and it can't be done??

oh and i got it all installed, just leccy and air/exhaust to sort and fuel line which i will do last so as not to risk leaks/un used fuel runs!!

Ooh, I can see Gav posting here with a brand new 'mysterious battery drain' thread in a few weeks!

You're going to have to find out what voltage runs the fan at whatever speed, cut into the fan motor wiring and run it at that voltage.

I wont tell the BECM if you dont :)
 
mm that what i thort but how do i

a, drop the walts

b, find out where the wires are without ripping car to bits, although i recon it'll be on the back of the hevac, just need a diagram for hevac now!
 
It would help if i understood what yu is trying to achieve :D.

interior fan to run without ign on so that my new webasto will warm the interior whilst i snooze. then i get a toasty warm car in the mornings.

as for battery drain, i'm gonna run it all from a backup split charge battery when i can find a small gel battery that is!
 
The fan motor wires will be in the loom at the back of the HEVAC. Have a look on RR.net under the replacing blend motors sticky.

Hopefully someone with better than basic electronics will come along to help you out but if I remember correctly you need to connect an appropriate resistor (should be equal to the resistance of the motor) in series with the motor. This should give you half the voltage and hence half the speed.



Or the above could send the whole car up in smoke :bolt:

Try looking in the electrical section of RAVE, all the wiring diagrams are in there.

eveything seems to go through the bloody becm!!

how mant wires go to the fans, i can (i hope, rig it up so the relays (or a relay) switches between car and webasto (i think thats what that digram is supposed to achieve) can i out a speed controller in there too?

it'll probably function like a volume control but for walts!:D:D

i can see me confusing the fu ck outa myself with this one! i'd like it to only kick the fan in when the temp is high enough too. that'd be a real cool way of it working!!

Sounds like a job for another ECU:eek::eek::eek:

You could use a thermostat like is used for the Kenlowe radiator fans to control the heater fan coming on. I can give you a part number and a supplier if you want

what i'm thinking is get a resitor thingy m bob to cut the power down, inline with a stat (dunno how hot i need it to come on, prolly about 40 degs c) through the relay that swaps between car when ign is on and webasto if ign is off!!

sounds like a plan to me!!

now what thingy m bob do i need and where/what stat???
