couple of the guys i run out with have between 10-12 lights each running on the original alternators  but works for them.

one looks pretty good, has used the smaller oval driving light style with 6 on the roof and 6 on the bonnet connected to 2 separate switches on the dash.

is he doing the lighting for U2's next tour?

just slap a bigger alternator on or fit a second one...... if you have a 200tdi without aircon you have an instant alternator mount on top of the timing case, when my cousin fitted a disco 200 into his series 2 he didn't have anywhere to fit the alternator (all the room in original position was taken up) so we made a mount to fit it on top of the timing case...... i noticed that recently someone has started selling the same thing we made.........should have patented it :doh it only took them about 4 years to catch up

do all these lights actually enhance the driving experience?

ive got a pair of spots on the front bumper... they came with the car..but to be honest .with bright bulbs the headlights are adequate

I havent fitted any on my 90, but had it on the disco, and despite all the **** taking of having too many lights, they are welll worth it when driving around at night on Salisbury plains...
