hi all! Ive been doing little bits 2my disco lately, was hoping to get a nice winch bumper but cant afford 1at the moment. I also looked at a non winch bumper but still 2 much bucks! A mate of mine suggested cutting the bottom part of the existing bumper away. Does any1 hav any opinions on this? And also mines the ES model, so wot do i do with the fog lights? Cheers

you can remove the metal section from the rest of the front bumper quite easily, rip away the bottom and the end caps and you will be left with a slimmer bumper, it wont take any punishment though and you will up breaking lights and denting bonnets if you hit anything (I found this out).

Your best bet is to make your own, get a welder and some decent heavy box section, use the mounts of your original bumper and go crazy... heres mine I made, it took 2 nights to do, one to build, one to adapt to a winch bumper:

agree make your own.

i cut the centre out of my series bumper and beefed it up with heavy angle iron leaving a tray for my winch. only took a few hours. not as tidy as yours but functional.
