So, just testing the water at the moment, but due to various factors, I'm considering swapping the D2. I've fitted Terrafirma dif guards/tank guard/transmission guard, unbranded steering guard, Spartan 'Warrior' winch, winch bumper. Since I've had it, it had a brand new Garrett turbo, new clutch and fly wheel kit, new rear brake caliper, and top quality parts always used when needed.
For the right deal, I'll also include a heavy duty rear bumper which I've not got round to fitting, as well as a set of Terrafirma rock sliders (selling brand new on ebay for around £389).
MOT did run out in October, and only drove about 3-400 miles since the previous MOT. Does have the three amigos, but had replacement abs pump and shuttle valve switch just prior to the last mot. 3 amigos came on again about 250-300miles after replacement pump was fitted, so could just be a dirty or faulty sensor.
It does have a couple of scrapes and some scratches from green laning, but drives really well. The mot tester (does a LOT of Landys) reckons it's one of the best/nicest Disco's he's ever driven, even considering it's on mud terrain tyres.
I was hoping to get the Mrs into green laning with me, but she wants a bit more comfort than the D2 has to offer (fussy mare!!), so I did think about an L322 Range Rover, but due to moving in the next couple of months, a Freelander 1 may be a good option as it's a little smaller than the D2.
So, I'd be looking for a Freelander 1 Td4 (I won;t even consider a 1.8 petrol, sorry), 3 or 5 door, preferrably a facelift. Not keen on the sport model, as it will be used for green laning, so will want all the ground clearance I can get.
Like I say, I'm just testing the water for now, but if the right offer comes in, I'll be interested.
