Hi guys
I had the notorious three amigos a couple of years back (ABS, Traction Control and Hill Descent warning lights), which would come on at random and could usually be shut off by restarting the engine. The computer say '134 shuttle relay electrical fault' and on the garage's advice we replaced the ABS modulator (a remanufactured one - I'm not made of money).
All was OK for a couple of years now my 'friends' are back. Same computer fault code and I don't fancy paying another £250 for just two years peace of mind!
I have seen on various forums the recommendation to by-pass the circuit board by connecting the wires from the SVS direct to the incoming green/black feed and to earth. It seems to be popular practice in 'the colonies' where main stealers are long distances away.
Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Does it work? Does the modulator continue to do what it should do? If so why do WABCO include the circuit board?
HELP:confused:

Find somebody with an early Nanocom - dont know if the Evo Nanos have as many functions. Plug it in and initiate a brake modulator service cycle. I dont recall what menu option it is but it worked for me. Nice fella known as Ratty lent me his about a year ago now and fingers crossed its behaved itself ever since. Cheers Ratty.
LR told me I needed a new modulator so it shows what they know.

Yes,get on and do it,I do loads, usually fit the shuttle valve switch repair kit at the same time.Diagnosed one just this afternoon for another local LR indy, and even supplied them with a kit and showed them how to do it.

Thanks for that.
I assume the shuttle valve repair kit is the £30 one SWO 500030. Bought one already on the grounds that I'd rather have a back up in case cutting the cables went 'XXXs-up!

Hi, another story about the 3 odd bods, 1999 Disco II. Actually they voted one off the island so I'm left with Hill Decent and Traction Control on. Sounds like the shuttle valve is the place to start, just wondered if I had a different problem with only the two lights on, ABS did originally come on as well but after about the fourth re-start he got bored and left. And I assume that while the TC light is on I don't have any? I'm hoping that the shuttle will fix this, any input would be appreciated.
