Three amigo twist!!

On Thursday I briefly had the three lights on the dash after turning a sharp right. After a minute passed after restarting engine, they went off.
Yesterday they returned yet again, after turning right!!! This time they are on permanently. I have noticed when reversing with a sharpish left (anticlockwise) turn the traction control makes a right noise? This must be an indicator of the problem surely??!!

I am hoping swarf from cutting my wing to fit my snorkel the other day hasn't got in anywhere, I suppose there is a chance?!

Wish I had a nanocom and a garage to work in

I'm down the road in Rushden with a Hawkeye, but no workshop either

Ooo, I am over Sharnbrook way next weekend. If I haven't got it sorted, could I pop in for a diagnosis, at least that may help a bit!

it would seem most likey a wheel bearing needs changing diagnostics will tell you which but if on right turns lhs would seem probable

Lh rear sensor got done in October. Maybe the whole hub needed to be done?!

Mine have done 153k miles and are original as far as I know, but I have three sets of spare shafts and hubs sitting under a sheet if needed in a hurry.

Currently there are complete assemblies WITH the ABS sensor on ebay for about £55 or so, at that price it isn't too painful to change one, assuming you can get the shaft out of the hub. I'd just swap the whole thing, hub and shaft.

Had a diagnosis today. Front right wheel sensor intermittent.
Fault has been cleared for now but bet it will be back!!

I have seen the cheap wheel bearings but all I read is bad things about them and how it is best to go genuine!

If you can, choose genuine. Mostly, cheap things are cheap for a reason. Not always the case though.

They are most likely made in the same plant as the originals, nobody is going to tool up to make what are a fairly low volume part unless they already have the tooling, same as the sensors, if you buy a load from Wabco they are probably quite cheap.

Check the plug & socket for the sensor under the wing, if it has water in it will short out the already weak signal.

Put some Vaseline on the joining parts of the plug & socket, don't use ordinary grease.

Thats what I thought. There cannot be numerous factories churning out Disco 2 parts! !!
Gonna get a £70 one from JGS 4X4, and try and get my own Hawkeye so I can reset it when it fails!!!
I am not a fan of paying people to do anything, I am prepared to have a go at most things.

I only have aloe vera vaseline, is that any good?

If it smells nice, that will improve the ambience....

If there is water in the socket, make sure it is thoroughly dry.

Do they pull apart? Tried tugging the left one off before and didn't budge!

They do just pull apart, but they're tight for a reason.

Changed both my rear hubs last June. Bought mid priced hubs (£350 for two). One has failed (leaking oil through the bearing) but they have done the honourable thing a sent a replacement hub.

Changed that yesterday, see how it goes now.

I had a good wiggle of the wheel last weekend and there does not seem like a failed bearing. I have bought a sensor and also discs and pads. I will hopefully get these done at the weekend and then purchase a hawkeye next week and reset the lights and see how long they stay off for!!

If you have voltage fluctuation on one sensor I think you may have a damaged abs ring which means a new complete hub

I suppose we will have to wait and see!! Not sure if it will get done this weekend as I have done my back in and am off work now :-(

Its more important to see what the codes say than just "reset" them. I think around 8 out of 10 times "3 Amigos" ends up in new hub!!
