it was at newark rip off to get in or stand but was in a good mood after getting disco so went for a nose round and sell some crap out my garage.

thanks for advice mr noisy im looking at a lift kit next month anyone recommend one? can you buy them in a complete kit all in one go? also what sort of money would i be looking to pay? theres loads of spring on ebay but hardly any kits. i got it in today and did a puncture repair to the o/s/r tyre while i had it off i striped down the brakes and checked and greased them. i need to get it in work on lift and get all wheels off but never get time as were only open for a few hours saturday. might have another two tyres so i may give holymoreside a go.

just for springs and shocks your looking at about £250, get a 200tdi rear propshaft second hand £20, cranked trailing arms £100 ish, cranked radius arms £150 ish, wide angle front propshaft £150, extended brake hoses £40 all adds up at the end of the day

it isnt going to fail without a de-cat! i will put a months wages on it, mine passed with a full straight throught on with no back box, and guess what the mot tester said..... 'sounds nice doesnt she'.

De-cats, EGR's and straight through exhausts are a big land rover taboo that everyone seems to be scared of these days.

yeh.. but that all depends where you take it to the MOT..

Here here regards the tow plough.

I also am aware of mot situation but the most up to date info as far as i know is that yes it's still not crystal clear, and the chances are its alright for mot.

Anyway, lets be honest, mot it then decat it, rinse and repeat next year. And yes that cat rent idea would be great!

My tester (rover garage) has confirmed that with towbar electrics that old 7 pin no problem new 13 pin plug in and test.

If you are doing a 2" lift you only need the brake hoses, extended bump stops and dislocation cones at the back. If you go more than that then you are looking at cranked arms etc.

Be warned you will ruin it greenlaning/odffroading, it will get scratched to fook and things will break :D

Looks nice mate:) I see u took the pics near hardwick! I live near there at Glapwell in fact the hall is the view out daughters bedroom window! Lol about the lift..u should be ok with just the springs and shocks u will only need extended hoses/cones if u have extended shocks that let it drop below 2" for more articulation when off road mines just got the 2" springs n shocks and is ok greenlaning so if ur not doing much off road u will be fine :)

yeah we went pub for dinner so thought id take some pictures there. im not sure how far im going to go with the lift. going to make a bit of a list in next few days.

door springs arrived today so get them fitted.
cam belt done before i go away in april.
sort rust out at bottom of drivers doot then look at some chequer plates.
then end of april when im back hopefully ill have amased all the parts for the lift kit.
may even look at a body lift kit then get some BIG wheels and tyres.

snorkal, winch bumper, light bar rock sliders if they come cheap.

i use the car most days but also want to take it off roading in my time off.

Sounds good,I use mine everyday too for going work and towing caravan but also go green laning too might be taking it to a pay n play soon just hope I don't break it with it being my daily drive!! Lol I was lucky mine already had 2" lift, snorkel and checker plate along door bottoms :) want rock/tree sliders next then bumper......and the list goes on!! It's a never ending list once u start mate! Lol ;-)

if you need a hand or anything give us a shout not far from s-in-a, btw you will spot my landy far away its met green with a one wife leave it in the window

Sounds like theres a few of us around the mid notts area - I'm in Hucknall. Perhaps its time Landyzone had a map so folks can see where other sadits um, disco owners live?

Here I stand, an idiot alone.... ah no longer am I alone for I have been presented with a map...

seeing as I didn't know it was there, how about it gets put as a sticky at the top of each vehicle sub type and in BIG HUGE LETTERS on the LZ homepage?

Ooh and I wonder if some clever bod could get it to update by adding your location from the location field on the personal control panel thingamabob?
