Same friend I helped out Monday with gearbox & eas issues on the phone again this morning as could not start car & alarm going off. Turns out he has not got eka code for the car . Advised him to ring main dealer closest to him to obtain the code. No joy there as log book needed to be in his name ( it's not as only had car a week ) and to take identification 2 hours drive away and pay €20 for the code.
I gave him a main dealer number in Dublin to try and hey presto all they wanted to know was registration number and gave out code over the phone

Lookers in London gave me the EKA and Radio code over the phone when I bought mine.

All I needed to give them was the reg number.

The guy went on to say it was common back then to Dymostrip (who remembers that stuff?) the EKA to the back of the main fuse panel under the drivers seat. I had a look. Bingo!

Like stjohnsmythe says, I can't imagine many people are after stealing P38's. Most of the legal owners can't start them, let alone a thief!
