Had to be something simple eh ? Nice work

runs really sweet, alittle lumpy on gas but i totally drained the tank so it may just be needs to rebuild the pressure,, only stuck £10 of gas in it and it barely registered on the gauge

but shes running,,,and i dont have to drive the shed anymore :D:D:D

(shed = 1996 mondeo i bought for £100. it took us to London n back no trouble )

those things are a real bummer. The headaches those things cause. They take only a few minutes to swap.
If you lived closer you could have tried mine as its easy, even no spanners required.
Maybe we should have a maf register to trouble shoot these naf wind tunnels so that they could be eliminated from the diagnosis. I dont mind anyone coming over its just getting to me. I do have a naf one , but they fail in different ways. My old one started rough on pulling off but idled ok.

their a total pain in the bum, mine didnt even show as faulty on testbook. took it to the garage pulled up and without looking at it he said you mafs gone mate.. same happened to his when he done his hgs. tested it and it was buggered, got new one (bosch) plugged in and shes fine now.. just got the gas suystem working too.. got 2 plugs round wrong way

Mine is sorted too!! Loads of faults but don't know which one started the original problem (missing and running rough). New plugs, leads (old and brittle), coil pack (missing on 2 cylinders), O2 sensors (pattern ones didn't work properly so OEM fitted - big difference in live readings), finally new OEM MAF. MAF fault didn't show on Techmate and it wouldn't run with it unplugged. The O2 sensors probably burned out because of the other faults.
Big thank you to all who helped, especially Eightinavee.
