Well last week I gave the motor it's longest test run since i bought it in April, a bit of a trial run before the big 2 week photography tour of Scotland.

Me and the current mrs Kergan took the motor for a 3 night break in South and mid Wales.

I can report that it went without a hitch and the motor never missed a beat. No problems at all and done almost 700 miles in the 4 days driving.

Took the beast up some very steep roads and it pulled up them no problem at all, I was very pleased.

We even drove through the lesser known village of Llanddewi Brefi where we happened to have the only Gaylander in the Village:D

Now it's fingers crossed for the big Scotland in a few weeks time, gonna be about 2500 miles round trip.

are freelanders THAT bad that their owners feel the need to share the fact they they have driven 700 miles without it breaking ?

I think the trip done it some good as well. I do a lot of work from home so don't do a lot of miles, i'm sure that lots of short trips arnt good for it.

It was driving a bit lumpy so I stopped using asda fuel and switched to BP and that seemed to make it a lot better.

But taking it on a good blast around Wales seems to have blown the cobwebs right out and it now seems to drive better than ever

Hooray someone with something positive to say!!! Well done mate, lets have a few more of the same. I am really happy with my freelander (I know you lot its very early days) but I'll critisise the bugger when it goes wrong not before. Give a dog a bad name and all that.

You do get some good ones, I bought a 1.8 new back in 2001 and it gave 2½ years trouble free service. My father in law bought a 51 plate 1.8 4 years ago and its never needed anything doing to it, not even a bulb changed!
