Sorry chaps, but it looks like mine is going to be out of action for a while longer.

At this time yesterday i was quite excited about getting it back. All the welding had been completed, leaving just a few small odd jobs to do.

My :) soon turned to :( when I went to sort out my footwells.

My plan was to remove most of the original paint with a flapper disc, add a couple of coats of Hammorite zinc primer, then use a rubberised safety paint as a top coat.

Once I started to remove the paint from the drivers footwell, it soon became obvious just how bad the rust is. It looks like most of the drivers footwell is going to need replacing, and I haven't even looked at the passanger side or the rear footwell yet.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. :mad:

if i get my landrover back up and running this week any one up for green lining up and around castleton, ive got just a stardard landy at the min. But i want to go and see what i need.
 
Money pit i feel your pain!
That sed ive got mine back and it int broke no more!!Any one out this week?Maybe an evenin during the week or sat or sun morn for a bit of laning?Gis a shout if anyones up for it.

I did a little bit more on mine this morning, skimming the paint from the passanger footwell. Rust there isnt too bad, but still some sections of it need patching up. Rear footwells look fine. That just leaves varies holes from rubber grommits to be filed in, and my rock sliders to be seam welded to the sills.

After that, its just painting and re-fit the interior, and I'm good to go. Should be end of October at the latest, (fingers crossed).
 
Hello all, I've been busy, stripped and sold the defender, bought a knackered disco, replaced the engine and done some extensive modding, just need to tax it this week then I want to go to bonsal for some serious testing, anyone fancy coming along to at least let me winch myself out if anything :D

Madfrank pmd me about a pnp day at holymoorside which sounds good.
Any one be up for that?
Im up for going either bonsal or holymoorside. Ill only be out for a morning though cos im under the thumb! :(

Holmoorside is a good site with pleny of mud but its not that big but still worth going, Is the p,p day this sunday?
