Well I've just had my first ****part experience. Bought two diffguards on eBay (I know, I know) and when they turned up they were in ****part wrappers. I should have just returned them but thought what harm can they do? The're just 2 lumps of metal.
Well I forgot the bolts. One is on now but I think the bolts were made of cheese. Needless to say the remaining guard and the 2 bolts with stripped threads are going back.

Just get some 8.8 bolts and save yourself the hassle!

**** clutch slave rod, terrible finish on the part that runs on a seal
**** water temp sensor, which wouldn't do up, just keep spinning

It really is amazing that they stay in business. Clearly selling cheap tat works for them but at some point it's got to catch up surely. Saw a post somewhere else recently that looked like a trak rod end had pulled apart at speed. Dangerous if that's what happened.

Does anyone actually call them to speak to a real person and complain and actually send the parts back that are faulty with a letter explaining the problem???
Or do you all just come on here bleating about how hard done by you are for not buying main dealer parts due to costs???

My pedal rubbers lasted about 3.5 seconds until I tried to bend the metal tabs around the pedals and every single one snapped off. I wasn't doing tight bends either.

Would it not be better if people could make a sticky with the britpart stuff that gives bother and if people could make a sticky of who makes the genuine part like Armstrong for suspension and Lockheed/girling for brakes etc?
No need as genuine has suffix G

britpart are the largest of 3 main wholesalers to the trade ,they sell patten ,branded ,oem and genuine stuff ,genuine is suffixed g ie if you order wheel bearing rtc3429g you get genuine timken bearing,rtc3429 just pattern bearing

Front wheel bearings,CV joints and front discs in my D1 all Britpart.Four years and 21 thousand miles all still performing fine.Rear discs fitted at same time as fronts but replaced two years later due to rust.Basically disintegrated,large flat chunks flaking off when hit with hammer.Rear antiroll bar balljoint links replaced wih Britpart two years ago,one side picked up advisory on MOT this year as having some play in it but otherside fine.So bit of a lottery then as to what fails.Oh and Britpart yellow HD springs been on for 15 thousand miles and used for towing frequently with no problems.I did fit a Valeo clutch kit when I replaced the gearbox with a good used one after it seized as I do not want to do that job again in a hurry with no engine hoist! Looks like if they sorted the consistancy of the quality then their image would improve but prices would rise too as more parts being rejected at manufacture.

I see on the Britpart website that they're now doing parts for Jaguars too. After "extensive and rigorous auditing by Jaguar". This is going to be a scream.

Valeo are oe supplier to Land Rover. I know someone who used to work in britpart warranty dept...even he couldn't believe the amount of stuff that came back

i just brought some blue box bits.
However they are things like rubber mounts for the spare wheel on the bonnet, 4 x new rubber hub caps and 1 x drive flange for the front axle. All britpart. All however are non critical or easy to change.
For things that are more complicated etc like brake servo, clutch cylinder etc i will get OEM spec at least.

My engine tore a hole in a Britpart "performance air filter"
Lots of their stuff is fine and to be fair, there's no problem at all with getting stuff replaced credit in the place I get the bits from which works nicely as I don't have to get the same parts again and just keep it to get something nice as they sell loads of stuff.
Their pattern parts are a joke though but lots of the bits that are oem are ok and only things that I've had that didn't last were wheel bearings so far
