Tesco's Veg oil offer

A while back I posted about Tesco's buy one get one free oil offer and quite a few guys on the forum took it up.
Did anyone have any probs running on the veg? (hopefully no one-worst case scenario only a filter change)
Be curious to gather some data for my veg forum.
I didn 't bother with the veg as I run on 100% bio made from waste oil,which I get free.-Which also runs without issue.
Be grateful for any feedback-prefer if this post did not turn into a punch up!

The problem I had was stalling. I would drive round the corner and as soon as I got to a junction the revs dropped back to idle and it stalled. That happened even with a small percentage like 10% oil. Im thinking I may have a weak lift pump because on straight diesel I dont have any problems and always starts first time. I had the problems with oil even when the engine was warm.

I bought an absolute ****load of oil, infact cleaned out a number of local tescos.
It was for my 300tdi but as its getting a resto, I decided to put it in my Golf Tdi (PD engine).
I run 100% with no problems but I probably will dilute with derv when the cold sets in.

Forgot to mention, I uses to run my 200tdi on 100% veg last year with no problems.
Being picky maybe a little slower to start in the morning when it was cold but the winter was especially bad,

Me again, apologies for hijacking but I've just noticed that Asda has an offer on veg at 67p per litre buying 15litre drums at £10. Not as good a the old Tesco offer but pretty good from a supermarket

I ran it for a long while until i went on holiday and wanted to be sure my fuel filter wouldnt clog.

Running 50/50 it would stall after running maybe a mile. Take a while to start again, but then it was fine.

I was hoping you were posting another offer!!

i went and got a load of it, put a bout 30l in and topped up with dev.........

went to the lakes............................

did a full days laning with NO PROBLEMS at all

same with my mates paj.. run well on it

i now use Tesco oil all the time, imo it not as thick as asda oil

bit lumpy if I run 100% in my 200tdi but I still run on about 80% no prob

I've run the 200tdi disco on veg oil since I got it & used to run my other 200tdi on it as well.

usually run 70/30 oil/diesel & 50/50 in the winter.

Never had any problems at all.. considering how "soft the 200tdi engine is" Or at least that's what that cuunt Sciatica reckons anyway :doh:

200 is a bit soft compared to the 300.
