Hi all this has probably been covered somewhere already i bought a w reg td5 defender a few days ago which i suspected an injector loom fault which was true it had oil dripping into the seatbox so i cleaned all the contacts at the loom end and ecu plug end replaced the injector loom and stripped the ecu to make sure there was no oil inside the ecu which there wasnt so i cleaned the end of the ecu out but the problem still persists it jumps and lurches at higher revs which sometimes goes away it has flat spots and unless there is a tail wind wont go past 60 mph and when it hits 60 you feel it stop pushing you back in your seat and the whistle of the turbo drops off has anyone had this before

Thanks in advance

Tom

Will double check tomorrow but dont think so would that cause flat spots and the truck to jerk quite violently under acceleration?

This is my first ever td5 i can get my head around a 200 tdi series with a vnt turbo but the td5 is a bit of a learning curve

Thank you everyone diagnosis was spot on tapped it open with a hammer and punch then put mole grips on and hit them backwards and forwards with a hammer untill it freed off then put wd40 and copper slip on it goes like a missile now and before this it would kangaroo in all gears but perfect now only one question when you put your foot down at lower revs e.g. Pulling out from a junction should they run a bit rough?
