Done a oil and filter change on a td5 2002 disco ( auto box ) .. This vehicle is currently on 89k on the clock, and filter change number 3 on the auto box, it was showing the M&S upon selecting reverse from park, so rather than dive into the XYZ switch I changed fluids and filters, seemed to have solved the issue and smoothed out the 2- 3 gear change that was a tad bumpy.
Now it drained for an hour, and then when I filled it up I was able to put 4.5 litres in of dexron 111
It states a 2 mm run from the filler upon completion, mine was a good flow of oil ( cold box )

Crunch question to you autobox afficiandos out there, do I recheck and release the transmission fluid to a 2mm bead from cold or do it warm, and after reading various posts on the wonderful world wide web, there is a core of people who advocate overfilling by 150ml or more ...

Looking for a definitive answer really from some of the forums esteemed clientele ... Merci beaucoup ;-) ;-)

its not important or necessary box will run as long as theres enough oil covering the pick up pipe at all times or if over full a pint or so, as long as it runs out of level plug without it been a full stream its fine
