Would appreciate advice on the location of this filter (PHB000450) and the frequency at which it should be changed. Cannot find it in RAVE or Haynes.
Thank you.

Is there an air filter on the EGR ?? Don't think so, but one never knows eh ?? Re the airfilter, sorry I can't answer. I put a K&N filter in my airfilterbox, is supposed to be ok for a lifetime.

do you mean the turbo crankcase breather filter ? if so, take the engine cover off, and its in the middle about 3/4 of the way from left to right, top of it looks a bit like the top of a syphon in a toilet cistern

No Optimus, I mean an EGR Air Filter, there is one on e-bay, its being sold by Duckworth's Land Rover. They are fitted as a service item by some main dealers. The part number is PHB000450.

The filter you are talking about is not fitted or mounted as such, but on the end of some hose. on mine it hangs about back left corner of engine bay as you look from the front, behind the oil cap. looks like old style fuel filter.

Excellent Aussie. 10 out of 10 to you! You are as good on TD4's as Casey Stoner is on two wheels!
Thank you.:D

i'm with you now, but I'm not sure it is anything to do with egr as egr is at front of engine.

aussie bob on, just hangs down at rear of engine, sole purpose to give new owners the fright of their life.

however, this sucks in through the filter, one end open to atmosphere, can't remember what it does though

hello
it s not for the egr but for release to ambiant air pressure the vacum system that command the variable nozzle turbo.

that why this filter is connected one way to ""electrovanne" of turbo and other way to nothing (ambiant air)

Hi guys, I need desperate help from you, I need detailed pictures of where to plug this filter back, one of the hoses broke off and I don't know where to plug it back, I've attached some pictures to show you how it looks now.

It's just a vent and is as it should be, a hose on one end and the other end open to atmosphere. It looks old so could do with replacing though.

If my memory serves me right there is just a little clip off a pipe next to the MAF sensor that tidies it up a little, but a tywrap would do ya nicely me thinks.

Seconded on the need for replacement though, mines as clean as a whistle in comparison...
