2005 , td4 need advice, this bag of crap has had,
NEW -
BATTERY
HIGH PRESSURE PUMP
LOW PRESSURE PUMP, FILTER
INJECTORS
FUEL SENSORS
and still wont fire up, just turns over and tries to start
have had it running, in a fashion prior to fitting new injectors
just a money pit and getting to stage where i neither have the time or inclie to continue, but its the wifes pride and joy
 
Sounds like you need to go back to the beginning, with live data.
You can get to the point where so many items have been replaced, that if one replacement item is faulty, you've no idea what the true issue is. Firing a parts cannon is often an expensive and unreliable way to solve an issue.

So start with basics like fuel pressures from both low and high pressure pumps, and making sure the crank and cam sensors are reporting back to the ECM.

cheers that was my next step, start again from the beginning
it was in a garage last year for 3 months, they gave all the excuses under the sun for not doing it

it sounds like a compression problem?,seems like nothing there and then suddenly it tries

Compression issues can sound like it trying to start, as it gets to the cylinder with low compression the starter can turn over quicker due to the lack of compression holding it back. Oscilloscope on battery and prevent from starting (fuelpump relay out) and readout will show battery voltage at each stroke, all should drop around the same amount as each cylinder comes into compression whilst cranking over.
 
Try spraying "quick start" (carburetor cleaner, polish, brake cleaner, ether, etc.) into the air duct. If the problem is low compression, it is necessary to start. Next, monitor how the engine will work

This might work.
However be warned that such products aren't recommended on compression ignition engines, as it can cause damage to the engine internals.
