Hi i got a small sound. and i have located that it from the cv joint. so i'm gonna swap those. but i was just wondering if the transmission fluid is coming out then?

:oops:You sure you have located to a CV?
Which transmission you asking about? The gearbox transmission has nothing to do with axle CVs.
Or are you talking about driveshaft CVs from transfer box to axle?

There is your engine, then gearbox and transfer box all in one unit. Then there are the main propshafts that lead to the differentials. From there are the small drive shafts that go to each of the wheels. There is a small cv joint on the back of the transfer box also on some models.;)

These shafts go into your differentials. Just be sure your 100% understanding your work. :D
Okey, thanks im new to the range rover first time i got something else then a VW transporter. im a boat machine so i think i will figure it out, I hope :) was just wondering if i need oil but as one said on the top here when im first under is a great opportunity to change the oil anyway thank for all help :D

Ok so that looks like a short shaft ( not in best condition) so when you attempt the work aslong as you are jacked up on stands one side then you should not lose any oil.
But for the cost of a new one ? It’s a lot of work to have to do it twice.
