Tailgate again

I know there are hundreds of posts about the tailgate problem, but I cant find quite the same issue and I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction on this? Its another FL1 tailgate failure... I cant open the rear tailgate as I guess, the window isn't dropping. Ive recently disconnected my battery (to change HP fuel pump). Can hear the microswitch in the handle clicking. The central console window switch causes the relays in the rear panel to click on both up and down presses.. Fuse 31 (20A) is fine. There has never been any grinding from the motor to suggest that it/cables/gear were wearing out. I tried the CCU self test (ignition on /off with fog light held) but doesnt seem to enter test mode (is it different for the facelift?). Cant easily spot the 4 door card retaining screws with the door locked, again is it different for the facelift? Many thanks guys.. TD4 2005 Facelift FL1

Sounds like the motor has packed up or one or more cables have snapped. The biggest problem you have is getting the window to drop a little so you can prise it past the top seal

Even stranger, intermittent wipers have bow stopped aswell.. CCU problem, multiple finding home position problems after battery disconnect, or car just falling apart?
