Synthetic or plasma???

Hi guys, can anyone help? i have a 12000lbs champion winch with a wire rope, and iam wanting to replace it with a rope, rope D) and i see that synthetic ropes are cheaper than plasma, i don't want to be buying new every 2 mins so i would like to know what other's think, which to go for??

I'm not sure what the difference is col.

Mine was 160 with a fairlead and hook, and it's a 11pm dyneema I think.

There was a thread recently where a guy said he used one of mine in competition and it lasted about an hour, whereas for me it's been just fine for occasional winching and makes the job easier at the right price. Mine was from winch-it on eBay.

Obviously get what you pay for, you can get used marlows on eBay for about 150 usually.

no your wrong im afraid

there are shed loads of variants of plasma/synthetic type ropes

personally get a marlow one.there exspensive but good

if ya pay a tad over £100 for a rope your gonna get £100 worth it aint gonna perform like a £400 rope

i went thru 2 of theese after the first one lasted just over an hr into an event i got a replacement f.o.c and put it on the rear winch and put a marlow on the front

and then when i could afford it i replaced the rear rope aswell
