Has anyone been out to the abandoned airfield near Ripley ? There are a couple lanes that go pretty close to it, and I thought it might be worth a visit before they turn the place into a tip....

Okay then, who's up for a Surrey laning trip, lets say Sunday 30 May, BBQ at mine in Richmond (upon da thames) afterwards, camping available in my garden for anyone who wants to get poegeye (blind stinking drunk) and remember you have the Monday Bank Hol to recover..

Any volunteers to help with navigation, because I'm not that hot on the lanes in Surrey...

Put yor names down here in the usual fashion..

A few peeps will be on the wales trip that weekend. :D

Would you believe it but I will be green laning with another group that day, we may even be going around Surrey.

I keep my ears open though just in case it cancels for whatever reason, but otherwise I keep an eye out.

Maybe after the day we can share lanes/routes etc.

I've been to elm corner (aka wisley airfield) loads of times. You cant really get onto the actual airfield as there tends to be lots of locked gates and loads of armco running across the runway to stop joyriders.

There is only really 1 lane there which runs between the airfield and the a3. Its not too bad...quite short but there was one half decent muddle and some bumpy bits. Infact I help a big police raid find some illegal ravers down near there when i was laning one night.

Just checked online...you can go down the first part of that TRO'd lane, but only as far as the fork, where you can go down sheepwalk lane and then make you way to london lane.

There are also a few lanes over towards pirbright, one of them look pretty good when i was training last december. could venture that way?

Damn Killjoys, that ruins my plans for a defender drag race down the runway.... Can we get onto the runway at Heathrow ??

Happy to head down Pirbright way, wherever the best lanes are, you guys would know the area best, I've just been looking at Pikey's lane database on my mapsource, but obviously have no idea of knowing if the lanes I'm looking at are any good. I'm busy aquiring a topo map for mapsource, although I've heard it is not very good..

Hey Kris,

Havent worked out anything really, doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest though...
