Hi there,
I appreciate that there have been a few threads started re these but id like a bit of advice. I bought these Land Rover Freelander Side Steps on eBay (end time 06-Feb-11 19:57:35 GMT)

And then bought the fittings also from ebay.
Can anyone please explain how they are fitted and where the bolts go. I see its not advised to weld them on which is fine but we could do with the idiots guide to fit them pleeeease of somebody.
Also does anyone have photos of them fitted on here they could provide so we know when we've done them correctly.

Many Thanks guys

like a rivet but has thread inside to create a captive thread, use steel over alloy as stronger and no reaction to steel

A technical term often used by men in divorce proceedings.
LOL!

I have these already then. Issue is how the feck do they bolt on? Are there going to be holes already to fit to?? and should the rear of the step fit flush against the wheel arch? Ive a 3 door but i was told they would fit bot 3 and 5 door.
Are they bolted to the floor underneath?

I see you bought the normal version of the side steps. There is also a camouflage version of them. Picture of both versions attached. (1 is camo, 2 is normal)

nutcerts to inner sill -from memory you clean under seal off and holes are there

Thanks, is that the correct way to fit with the larger thickest part of the step at the rear?

Yes, and just now took some more pictures, in detail, of how things look underneath and how it should look after finished etc... you check the position how to do. The part which is screwed against the side of the sill is the outside of the car, but that's selfexplaining when you lay the sills next to the car before starting the mounting, it shows itself how/where things have to go. Good luck.
