Hi Yawl,
Anyone have a view on drilling into the chassis to fit the rivnut type nuts needed to fit these side steps to the LR 90/110?

I bought a pair and intended to fit them in a day but seeing that they require the above type nut for the stay bar to be attached in the chassis I was a bit hesitant as the chassis is steel and the nut is something different?

Cheers

Do you mean the original style fold down steps? If so, I thought these used pre-existing holes but I stand to be corrected. I’ve got them on my 90 but I’ll be removing them at some point as they’re rusty and don’t serve much purpose for me. If LR specify the use of rivnits, I’d have thought it was ok to use.

Nice one Knappster, its a good point about pre-existing holes. I will double check that as these did not come with any fitting instructions.

You could get rock sliders with side bars but get chequerplate or grip tape on the bars to allow the bar section to be used as a step. Otherwise, some full length side steps, which might be better if you don’t intend doing anything serious off road.
