loads of peeps were selling 2nd hand BFG A/T's, at Manby for £40 or £50 a wheel. even saw a set of 5 going for £180 but they were a bit worn and the side walls didn't look too healthy. Didn't see many 2nd hand Insa's for sale though. & that in itself tells a story.

I don't rate the bfg's at all. They don't like being ballanced and I don't think they are all they are cracked up to be off road neither. I prefer the khumos I had on the fronts to the bfg's on the rear.

Due to lack of rain I have been unable to test my Insa Turbo's at the Glastonbury festival so far.

grumble grumble. wish I was at glasto

Yeah. There's nothing like sitting in queue after queue of traffic or forcing your way the wrong way around one way systems with drivers who think their cars are the width of tanks. Then you have the heat and a vehicle with no blower motor. When you get to where you are going you get greeted with ' where the f**k have you been. I've been waiting for.........'

The joys of Glastonbury.:D

Yep That's the impression I got as well. There was one set of bfg's that had decent tread but a close insepction revealed lots of splits and holes in the sidewalls that had been filled with what looked like No more nails  and then coloured in with a black marker pen.

Sees yer on the subject of tyres now, how ****e are my colway AT's, or is my driving crap, coz they seem to be getting me stuck a lot.

And where did yer get the insas from.

Repaired by HB then

i am going to go for Insa's when i sort me landy out, 265/75R16 special track £425 delivered on black 8spokes from craddocks quote APD0042

I don't know what the colway at's are like but I couldn't fault their mt's. I still have a set that I keep for emergency use.

Insa Turbo Remoulds

Yep they look ok, I think I would go for the special track ones for mine tho, but still to make my mind up if the AT's are my problem.

Having said that I could'nt get over a tree laying on its side and it was only about a foot in diameter on grass and ferns and giving it the one wheel at a time technique. No fookin way it woz gona go over, had to cut the centre out it.

The tyres turn to slicks in a second, full of mud then its over, fokin hate them.

i have the same tread pattern as the insa's in the form of amazons which insa took the tread pattern from, lasted me 1000's of miles so far and an amazing off road ability, good on road manners aswell.
HB's 90 has the same pattern in the form of greenways, both mine and hers performed well on the easter shindig in the sloppy stuff leaving the BFG's behind.

ask stig...................

the colway at's arnt too bad, still lacked what our tread pattern had but far better than the bfg's.

I know what ones to go for then, cheers lads.

oh i forgot to metion i have recently been using bronco grizzly claws of the same size and they are out performing my amazons, **** on road manners though, hell of a lot more noise and yer can feel every nobble at all different pressures.
just to throw somthing else into the mix hehe!

Do you mean the amazons are the same pattern as the special tracks or the saharas Raz?

I fort he mean't the Special Tracks cuz thas wot HB's tread pattern is from mammary.

I just think the Special's look a bit extreme for on road, not much rubber on the tarmac. Less than me Saharas anyways. Might be wrong, but I uhmmed & ahhd about which of the two ter go for before pluigging for the Saharas.

Wish I could remember where I got them cuz they were a **** site cheaper than Paddocks are knocking them out for. I'm sure they were only a shade over forty notes a pop & that wuz delivered.

well impressed with my bronco grizzly claws last weekend was the test and they performed excellent! That much grip it almost stalled the engine in low 2nd giving a stuck 90 a gentle tug! Well impressed i think insa s are gonna be just as good and wonder just how much better they are than sats? Probably not much difference but very fashionable me thinks Jai

Yeah that wuz a concern for me hence the reason for trying to find the saharas first. The missus uses the car for going to work and I bring my works truck home with me. I only really use the landy for recovering bogged vehicles for work, local pottering about a couple of times a fortnight, off road pleasure, day trips to the coast and towing the caravan a couple of times a year. As 50% of it's use is off road and I couldn't get the saharas in the right size I figuered I might as well just go for it.
