maybe they do - things can go wrong to the best.

Thats your excuse is it????;)

:p :p :p

Judging by the rear wheel on the 101 and the lack of brake lights he was in too low a gear and most probably failed to accelerate in time when he felt the back end began to go.

The army bloke wuz braking all the way down the hill. (brake lights on)

am only guessing though.

Impressed!!

Sees yer an old hand at this stuff I'm makin slidders for mah disco this week, do ya fink the sticky out ones are best or the flush sort of ones, the ****y steps wot were on got caught on all sorts of ****, sos ah dunt wont to get it wrong.

Sorry to veere orf the subject, but I fink my bent steering wud have been less bent if ah had slidders, and in terms of this slidding down hill stuff I cant get to grip with it either, when I'm slipping, low, diff lock, 1st and 2nd and I press the throttle to square it, it goes faster, then it fookin slides all over the place when I let it off. If it wernt for a tree I'd still be slippin.

It's worse going up, the fooker lost grip then started all that clanking **** from the drive then slid back.

It's not very easy at all, in fact the only thing I aint done yet is roll over, ahm a fookin neervous wreck, the last thing I remember on friday was it on two wheels and lookin at the door pocket on the passenger side, and thinkin, "wish ah hudunt put my axe in there".

gripfill my advise wasn't bad its the quickest way down a strait desent it goes without saying if there is a turn in the hill you don't power it, but the video with the 101 rollover i would have give it a bit of beans kept the wheels spinning the same speed as the desent and wouldn't have crashed

just tell him wot sort yer want Daft !

cos lets face it, his Disco int gunner last long enuff for em t be much use to him by the sounds or his drivin:rolleyes: ;)

Oi yoo am a lernur.

Wernt my fault there were fookin tree stumps in the ferns, covered my 6 inches moss, I walked the route wif me wife and the dogs, but I slid off route, and the side steps are a total waste of space, so in many ways its a blessing they got fooked. Once I woz down there it woz a bastid getting out.

I watched videos of you mad fookers going at it in worse places that where I woz and much harder.

tree sliders are normaly attached to rock sliders and look like grab rails on the side of them, unless you mean body sliders which sit below the capping and fend off trees there

I know what you mean now, but since the steps seemed to ground out and cause problems I was thinking that tree sliders would do the same.

But I need to go with the experts here, so whats best for general off roading, most of the driving is off road in difficult conditions.

you will lose aprox 2" of clearance on the sills but compaired to the steps thats nowt, if you had a deepender you would just be replacing your sill plates

Just go for the rock ones then without the tree bits at the sides, once the steps and plastic plates were off I can imajine how vunerable they are to damage without slippers.

The tree sliders help to protect the paintwork and the doors from damage. Disco doors curve outwards slightly If you don't have tree sliders and try to squeeze through a tight spot you knacker your doors. I'd go for combined rock & tree sliders. They're also very useful if your wheels are spinning on one side, or if your leaning over a bit too far. As you can get a couple of fat bastids to stand on the tree sliders and add a bit of weight to one side.
