I was taught to change pedal bike tyres with a couple of dessert spoon handles by my granddad when I was about 10.

Manual machines like this on eBay 331261673650 are good enough. You can get ones with an pneumatic ram for bead breaking but that's not usually the hard bit. Plus you then need a medium sized air compressor to run it. If you are doing alloys then the standard bar included is no good, you need one of these 181592843695. I did make my own bead breaker out of bits of scrap in about 20 minutes but don't use it anymore (converted it into a shock/spring press!) The bubble balancers are also sufficient for landy work - and speed (or lack of)

that does look like good tackle discokids - looks similar but more substantial than the sealey one.

anyone else looking at this - bluehands on youtube does a tut with a harbour freight manual changer and makes it look easy enough - my only worry is that the van uses 86 XL tires - might give me gyp.

I've done it a couple of times with levers and a hammer. Not difficult - just like a bike tyre, but bloody hard work.
