my mates struggleing to run 3 vehicles.van for work,saab estate as family car and disco as play thing.

so after a lot of thinking the disco has to go
hes unsure whether to break it or try and sell as a whole
its a 300 tdi 3 dr.11 months mot and some tax
roof bar and lights
safari snorkel
5 black modulars with insa turbo special tracks fitted
first four tubular front winch bumper no winch
rear jate rings
all carpets removed
dark grey in colour
he spent £700 having recon fuel pump and all new fuel lines and fuel lift pump fitted
i will get some piccys asap and try and post them
he wants £1k do you think in your wordly wisdom of discos this is what they will fetch?
im a defender man thru and thru and dont know much about the disco so any help or pointers would be god ta

The two key elements that determine the market value of Discovery's are condition and condition.

They are vehicles prone to rust so if your mate's one is clean, that's brownie points, if it won't pass another mot due to holes everywhere it's worth next to nothing.

Chassis, boot floor, rear wings, inner front wings and sills are THE places for rust. If his is good in these places and is mechanically sound (without knowing the year or service history status) the value is between £600 and £900

condition is fairly clean n tidy
but it has the usual rusty rear floor not horrendous but unsure whether its another mot pass,rear inner aches showing signs of rust
front inner arch i think had some plate welded in for mot,drivers footwell had some welding done,
exhaust exits out of rear side panel

front bumper £100
roof bar £30
5 wheels n tyres £175
snorkel £100
steering guard £20
diff guard £20
jate rings £15
looking on fleabay theese are based on around what the bits are going for.

jate rings new are 15 quid, diff guard new bout 30.Steering guard if its dented a score if its pristeen nearer the new price of 65-80.

To be honest mate I reckon you're being a bit optomistic with your prices. Second-hand kit is just that. It's been off-roaded, used and maybe abused, so it needs to be cheap.
 
2nd hand disco snorkel went on fleabay last week for £112 ive never seen one ever go for anything under £90.
if it was 4 wheels n tires i would say £150 but a set of 5 matching black modulars with special tracks on for £120?.thats a bit underestimated surely.
front bumper cost him £375 so surely £100 is a snip
i know you never get back what you pay for stuff.but i think fleabay may be the way for all the bits individually

Brand new snorkel, my mate just fitted to his Def: PM703 Paddock Snorkel for Defender 300TDI/TD5

Brand new modulars are £30 apiece - BRAND NEW;
 
i have just spoke to my mate and he has sold the wheels and tyres today for £200 and the bloke who bought them gave him his wheels n tyres in exchange aswell only road tyres but hes gonna break it now anyway so there only on to move it about.
he will list all the bits on fleabay soon and see what happens

With all the fashionable goodies and a long MOT it should fetch a grand or so on ebay. People will be blinded by the jazzy kit and forget to even ask if it's rusty. Plus they'll assume it must be ok if it's not long been MOT'd(big mistake usually).

PMSL at estimated wheel and tyre prices, watch ebay for a few weeks...

5 x modulars with insa special tracks (with life left in them) will fetch 250+ everytime.

Ive sold recently on ebay 5 x ****ty alloys with insa dakars 235/70/16... £265.
