Hi all, new to the forums but had my 1995 discovery for just over a year now so far I've fixed a leaking rear roof, changed all the pads and discs. Had a nightmare last year eventually figuring out I had dry solder joints on my spider so replaced that with the jumper system but now this.

So just to clarify the air conditioning has never worked but with our boiling weather recently I decided to try it again and discovered that pressing the button would activate the central locking. So I turned it off and decided to deal with that another day. But now I have discovered if I have the sidelights or head lights turned on and I indicate right the central locking activates but not when I turn left orifthe lights are off.

Does anyone have any ideas ??? I love this car but the work never seems to end.

No idea at all, but I suggest that you start you fault finding by isolating, one at a time, the circuits involved... along with checking all the earthing points you can find including those behind the kick panel in each of front foot wells.

That's a good point I know there was some welding done around that area before I owned the car. Just seems like such a random fault.
Can bad grounding cause issues like this?
Can pull the central locking fuse and see if my air con works ? I've never actually left the button on long enough to see if this works as the doors keeping locking and unlocking and I'm worried I'll damage something.

Discool you sir are a genius, drivers side behind the kick panel I find a lonely grounding connector without its cables attached and yet the nut still bolted down. After a bit of rumaging through cables I find all the grounding cables and connect them backup and perfect. No more indicators activating door locks or the aircon switch.:D the aircon even works. . Kind of think it just needs a re-gas the air comes out the same temperature but you can here the fans kick in.

God knows how long that had been disconnected certainly for at least the year I've owned it. Oh well live and learn glad that's fixed though was picturing driving home in the winter with the doors constantly locking and unlocking on every roundabout.
