Hi, am new to this forum and am trying to find out how to change the inlet manifold on 2003 2.5 v6 SE freelander. Got a used one from Rover 75, but could do with guide on fitting. Is it relatively easy, or better off taking to a garage? Any ideas? Ta

Its not a hard job, just time consuming as there is alot to take off to get to the manifold. After you unbolt it , it is held in place by 'O' rings so needs a bit of a pull to get it off.
Remove your thermostat housing and associated plastic pipe and elbow and replace the 'O' rings on them as they have a habit of leaking. The plastic bits also crack so you could replace them as well. The hardest part I found was two 6mm bolts at the back that hold clips for cables or pipes, you can't see them so have to remove them by touch. It took me about 4 hours just to change the manifold and a couple of months later the thermostat housing started leaking !! Don't forget to get the FREE software upgrade done to prevent it happening again.
