Evening All,

Just getting round to refitting my 1992 defenders rear wiper. Offered it up but can’t remember how to fit the bloody thing securely. I had the motor rebuilt and working if the cradle is around the wrong way.

If anyone has got pics of theirs fitted as a guide I would be really grateful!!!

Also is there a rubber cover that goes over the threaded end on the outside?

Can't do pics but what I think you call the cradle (the brass bit with the hole and rubber washer) is the wrong way round compared to mine.I have a marine ply board backing my door, and it screws onto that. I used a home-made rubber washer for the outside, it doesn't seem to leak.

The crack above the hole in your door frame looks like it's about to get expensive. With the rear wheel carrier on my back door, it was too much weight, and the door flexed at that point. The window didn't. Make sure you've got a gas strut to control the door slamming. The ply also supports the strength of the door, and is a good mount for my cooker.
