Hi,
2003 Disco 2 : Rear Wiper / washer works ok - Cleans the bottom of the window but at the top of the sweep the blade does not sit on the glass so doesn't clean, just at the bit where i look through!
Replaced the wiper arm and blade - same result.
Am i missing some spacers on the spindle area? Any ideas from anyone welcome. The arm is plastic so worried about bending it.

Googled like mad before posting, but most faults seem to it not working at all (guess I'm lucky haha!)

Yes they are crap 😊

Mine has the same problem

Changed the spring on the arm to see if that would help Nope

I now just live with it

Mine has always been fine, not sure why the others should be a problem. Our son's D2 ditto, it has always been fine as well.

It sounds as though the blade isn't pivoting on the attachment to the arm so it gets forced away from the window.

+1

Never had an issue, mind you its not use that much, I may have only replace the blade three or four times in the life of the car.
Running now with a flat blade on the rear which surprising works very well in my rear washer test following installation, but still hasn't seen any rain.
I haven't tried my new Goodyear tyres in the rain yet either, purchased last November in case of snow but the disco didn't see that either.

I must use the disco more. :D

It works reliably on our D2's, if there's a problem it can only be the arm, arm pivot or the blade attachment.

The arm body sits 5mm from the highest part of the window rubber when at rest. Any higher and it will be multiplied by the length of the arm.

Thanks for the replies. Already broken one wiper blade trying to "gently" bend it!
At least I know it's not just me with the prob. I read on one blog on another site that LR issued a fix but the weblink was broken so none the wiser :(

Been a while since I posted but "sorted" this finally! I've now put the blade on the wrong way round - so it doesn't clip in. One tie wrap to secure. Works perfectly now clearing the back window full length of the blade. Should I inform LR of this fix lol !
