Got stuck in mud this morning ... Only back wheels driving, prop into front diff turning but wheel at front doing nothing ????? Any clues any one

Cheers
Tel

You've sort of answered your own question. If the prop is turning but neither wheel is then the diff is not working.

Snapped half shaft. Unless pinion is totally stripped. Jack up front axle turn a wheel if other does not turn in opposite direction most likely half shaft failed.

This sounds like an expensive job ..... Will have to see what landy dealer has to say !
Prob done less than 300 miles since I bought it at end of November doh !

Will be having a chat with the dealer tomorrow see what he's prepared to do before I start any kind of action ..... To be honest I would prefer a repair/ replace course of action rather than my money back, as I would have to go thru the rigmarole of finding another one and who's to say that wouldn't be the same ....... Bought dec 7 th 2012 and I've done less than 300 miles in that time so I don't see they have much of a leg to stand on ..... Still I'm sure they will try it on

Think I may be up creek without a paddle now ......... Can find everything ins, mot,log book but not the bill of sale, can the day get any better ..... Think I will have an early night before anything else fcuks up ........ Ooh look its the 13 th ...... Mmmmmm I wonder

Rang dealer this morning, explained what had happened, he said leave car with us and we will get it sorted f.o.c. Will call u when it's done ........ Very pleasant... Lets see what happens from here:D:D

That will cost him a few bob. Make absolutely sure they check the viscous coupling whilst doing the job. It is highly likely that it caused the fail if it is seized.

If I were a car dealer I'd personally steer clear of selling P38s!
