Sorry for all the questions at the mo guys, it's one of those months again!

I've been under my girl today as i've been hearing some creaking from the back right area. It also sometimes knockes as i'm reserving/pulling off.

So i gets underneath it and i'm relieved to see no chassis cracks or weld breaks, and i lift the rear diff and no play in bush mounts. Then i grab hold of each (driveshaft?) on each side and notice a fair bit of play in them. Would this be the CV joints that might have worn and would the CV joints be the likely cause of the noise?

There was no play from anything else, and when i get under the car and pushed the rear end upwards as if i was benching it from the rear subframe the creaking was coming from around the rear CV joints.

also forgot to mention that i also get a juddering when pulling away either in first or reverse, but it's fine once i've pulled away and have built up speed.

More info: Been under her again just before it started to **** down! Had both back wheels off and was able to turn the hubs and it appeared they turned in opposite directions???

With only one wheel on the ground, could turn the other so far before it looked like it locked at the front of the propshaft at the engine. Didn't force it to turn any further, if anyone recommends me to i'll see if i can get it to. Could turn it so far in either direction though without any of the prop engaging, a bit like 'play' but i'm not sure if it's meant to do this or not.

After i'd got both wheels back on, i sat on my driveway going backwards and forwards just riding the clutch. The creak was evident as i pulled forward, but if i went backwards then there was no creak. This might be different on surfaces other than my driveway though.
