This guy is selling this eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace claming its an improved design but I don't see the point there's no Teflon piston seal?? ok its a good idea to have a new seal (you have to use the old one when you buy just the Teflon piston seal)

Dopey....I'm confused,

The Fleabay ad shows the Seal and Piston liner.....you say there is no seal?? I beg to differ as the Graphite Grey Ring is the new piston seal...!!!

sorry it didn't come out as intended, I was thinking why just sell them 2 bits as they hardly ever go wrong why not sell all 3 (the Teflon seal that goes on to the piston as well) so your saying that it ring there selling with the tube IS the piston seal?

Wam yea he says its a Dutch seal, I'm glad you pointed out to me its crap, was thinking of getting it

Yep....

I used to have glass fibre reinforced seals made for me in Western Australia, I stopped importing them as I had problems with them wearing the cylinder.
I now buy them ten at a time from P38 spares on the net. They come from Dennis of Rover Renovations in the US,They are excellent quality and work / last well.
I think most peoples problems in repairing compressors is that they dont address all the other worn EAS parts and the compressor does not have a chance.I will now only supply compressors for cars I can check over first.

A few people on here have had the dutch seal, including me, it fails in cold weather. It is much too stiff in my view and has no memory. One thing i will say is never just change the seal, ALWAYS fit a new cylinder as well.

@Wammers
Many thanks for bumping me away from the Dutch stuff. I was almost going to order theirs! <phew>
So which seal and liner kits would you recommend? I need these plus the o ring kit to refurb my EAS...

Why change the cylinder too ? I only replace them if they are worn or damaged, never have any problems.

So a penguin is driving along in his P38 on a hot summer's day, all of sudden his EAS breaks down. Luckily, he's pretty close to a garage. So he creeps along to the garage and asks the mechanic to take a look and find the problem. Mechanic tells him to come back in 30 minutes. So the penguin is getting hot being summer and all, and decides to find something to cool him off. He goes in the convenience store and buys some vanilla ice cream. He eats the ice cream hurriedly and heads back to the mechanic to find out the problem. The mechanic says "Looks like you blew a seal." To which the penguin replies, "How dare you! It's just a little ice cream!"

LMFAO.....:hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi

After say ten years and several million cycles the anodising will be worn. For the price it's better safe than sorry. Each to their own i suppose.
Fair comment,as I said I only change them if they are worn, done loads - literally and had no problems, apart from with those glass type seals which chewed the bore to bits....

Yes the Dutch ones. If you fit one of those to a part worn cylinder it will go through the remaining anodising like a knife through butter. Very aggresive wear in a very short time.

This is the reply from the guy that sell them (for what its worth) i like to be unbiased and see both sides lol

Dear dopey_113,

Hi,

Our seals, do not crack in the cold (sounds pretty weird when I read such words), I think that that are rumors being spread by competitors.

I even dare to say that our products are superior to the standard versions.

Nevertheless, good luck with the purchase and regards,

Goswin

So wam you must be selling them then?? lol

I re-furbed my compressor recently using this guy and had no problems. Sent it quickly and price was very reasonable. I actually bought the kit with the piston itself included as I didn't want to bugger around with removing/replacing the seals - I just know I would've f****d up the new one
