hi all just had the wheels done on me vehicle and rear brake pad sensor was knocked out of location point the warning said check brack pads i have put it back in pads are fine but still red light comes on dash and pads warning light does this have to be reset any where ,

thanks for any help

The sensor is designed so that as the pad wears, the sensor wears too breaking the internal wire which brings the fault light on....

If the sensor is good, check the wiring and multiplug to ensure it is seated correctly....else renew sensor!

Once the check pads warning comes up you need Testbook or similar to clear the fault, once the pad sensor has been replaced. It is logged in the vehicle exterior lighting module, not the instrument pack or ABS ecu as you may expect....

When I did my pads back in June/July last year, once I replaced the sensor...all was well with the world and didn't need resetting...

Dunno how that works then,I've been servicing the rubbish since they were in warranty - always had to use Testbook to get rid of the "Check brake pads" fault. I even remember asking LR dealer tech support if there was a quick way around it,they never came up with anything.

Anything is possible and nothing surprises me with these beasts....

Sometimes what the car does, and what the book says are totally different things....gotta love BMW/LR for that!!
