Hi landy folks ,I've been having a problem with my 03 l322 td6 once warmed up all ok till you switch engine off and leave for an hour ,then just cranks over but does not fire until temp gauge reaches blue section I'm really stuck any help please I've changed fuel pump and temp sensor cheers rob
 
Nothing I've lived with it it seams worse in the summer I drove it for seven hours the other day never missed a beat its a good car apart from that prob is the high pressure pump under the bonnet

Rob, are you stating its under the bonnet, or are you asking if its under the bonnet? I truly hope you are stating,!!:confused:
 
Sorry for sounding a divvy , I presume its the pump under the bonnet ,an expensive item to change if its not the problem :(:(
 
I think so, i'm not a Diesel buff, but usually there is a lifter pump or low pressure pump supplying the injector pump, or rail in common rail which i think you have, if it runs ok at first then wont start, i would steer towards low pressure pump, but im no expert. Good luck:)
 
Starts great when cold or if car has been left for up to half an hour, any more and you have to wait for it to cool down again, I'm stuck
 
It's not primer pump ,it happened once and I changed the primer pump, it still would not start till it cooled down

It's a common rail diesel, there are two pumps, a lift pump and a high pressure one. I believe the HP pump is under the car. There is no FIP. The HP pump is known to fail.
