there are loads of issues with this car and i am hoping you guys can help me out.

thanks

hi welcome to the mad house what rr have you got and when you say all is working fine apart from audio do you mean alarm not going off? j

hi,

yes sorry, i should of explained it better. the alarm and immobiliser is actually working but when i tried to set it off by waving my arms about, i get the motion detected message on the dash but no sound. i also do not get any sound when the indicaters blink when arming or disarming.

i have a 1995 4.6 hse and i dont think its a good one...

thanks

the alarm, i think, doesnt 'advertise' its set by making a noise, at least mine doesnt, the noisy bit is under the fuse box in the engine bay!

thanks

is it relatively easy to remove and replace, thats asuming thats the problem.
also another thing i noticed today whilst looking around the wheel well area
was that there are 3 big holes which looks like there was some kind of grommet
in them. they have rusted through and i would like to nip that in the bud fairly
quickly so the rust does not get a hold on the car. are these replaceable? whats the best way to stop the rust from spreading?

thanks

i got an idea, leave a door open and lock it/set alarm.

also to set the alarm its a double press on the fob are you double pressing, make sure indicators flash 3 times!!!

i basically tried all that already, motion detecters kick in but no sound. are the indicaters supposed to continuously flash as well. i definately am getting the alarm to go off but cannot get thee damn thing to make a sound?

which well is it?

hoe big are the grommits, to repair the metal, rub it down/wire brush it, the get some of that rust stop type chemical rust remover and then spray it with a rust inhibiting primer, then paint to match the body! should make a thorough job of it!

spare wheel, the holes are quite big , i was wondering if they are replaceable.

the grommets that is, thats if it was grommets, the holes are perfectly round with some remenance of rubber
around the outside, but was metal on the inside. hope that makes sense

mine has the same holes and rust, i believe someone banged the gromits out for the lpg pipes etc, obviously they are there to get rid of any water that might pool but i would assume they can be got from somewhere like a fstner supplier or seals and bearings shop.

there is a place in sheffield that supplies seals, city seals and bearings. i reckon a call to them with the hole size and they'l prolly post em out to ya or i could pop in and pick em up. theyre not far from me!

Rubber Grommets has them but they are open grommits

you may be able to get hold of em from a scrappy!
