hi all

Just A quicky how does the bloody radiator come out as mine just gets stuck on the viscous fan the fan cowling is off me and the mechanic have been pulling pushing and it gets stuck half way

any help i need this bugger out so i can put a new 1 in and get the car moving rave doesnt help much

I changed mine 2 weeks ago:

Remove bolt holding window washer bottle filler neck and just move out of the way as required. (left hand side)

Remove bolt holding power steering fluid reservoir and just slightly move of the way. (right hand side)

Drain Rad via plug in bottom

Undo the rad hoses and move out of the way.

Loosen fan hub from water pump (left hand thread, loosens by turning clockwise, 36 mm spanner???), remove the 2 spring clips from the top of the radiator cowl, now undo the fan hub fully and remove fan assembly/cowling as one unit.

Undo oil cooler pipes from bottom of radiator.

Remove the 2 bolts holding bottom of radiator to mounting brackets (1 each side)

Now remove radiator from the top. ie up wards

hth

zzr

PS> Change thermostat, fan belt a/c belt and possibly the water pump while your in there>

Sorry for hijacking BUT...

I find that type of thing so funny, its usually me that, that type of thing happens too.
I'm sure you'll laugh about it at some point.

Is meant to be 32mm.... when intact!

Mine was an utter sod to shift. Ended up jamming a big scerwdriver across 2 of the water pump pulley bolts and whacking spanner (extended with a cheater pipe) sharply with a hammer. Mucho knuckle skinnage... but it comes off eventually.

If you have a mini-blowtorch, heating the nut helps ALOT.

Buy a viscous fan spanner i use a tyre lever inbetween the pump bolts it's quiet easy when you know how Perectly described by zz1200 :)
