Hi chaps.

So I have taken my propshaft off changed the bearings but now I can't get the UJ's on either side to fit back on the VCU splines.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Thanks

The splined ends of the propshaft UJ's are a good fit on to the VCU splined shafts.
Firstly, make sure that the splines are not bruised in any way, if they are, dress them gently with a smooth file. Secondly, remove all rust from the splines with a wire brush and coat them with anti seize compound e.g. copper grease.
If you have removed the propshafts from the VCU you probably found them tight to remove. After you have checked the dplines for damage, cleaned and lubricated them, try rotating the shaft one tooth at a time to see if it will fit easier. The spline configuration does not have a "Master or Key" spline..they should match in any position. The splines on the VCU shafts and the prop shaft bosses are the same size and pattern.
Hope you checked the condition of the VCU support mountings and bearings whilst you have it all separated and dismantled !!
