hello all before i get to mad as im waiting for my vcu to come back.
i thought i would replace my uj did the worst one fine.did the next one fine.
the garaged has said only one was on the way out( first one) so i order 1. then later order another. well on Sunday i though i might as well do the last one so they are all new.
order 2 ( one for spears)came in 3 days. took the old one out .
put the new one in and to get the cir clip you realy have to press it in so much so its solid. first one messed up.
tried again with the spare and the same. ive measured 62 mm but this seems to tight with my cir-clip in place.Land Rover Freelander 1 Prop Shaft UJ (Pair) | eBay
these are the ones ive got (britparts).
so before i email the seller i would like your views

No experience with this particular part, but...

If it's made by britpart it'll likely set your car on fire, steal your wallet, burn your house to the ground and shoot your dog before it actually works properly.

so im lead to be leave no cir clip with the uj even though it said comes with them

It must have circlips, whether internal or external, have you dislocated a roller when refitting?

I see this with cheap UJs sometimes. If you are able to fit both circlips but the joint is tight, there is a solution or two. First off make sure that you have fitted the circlips with the convex side outwards. If this is correct then take the next step. Simply remove one circlip and "dress" the concave side slightly on an oil stone. You will notice that there will be a shiny edge to the clip all around its perimeter. This is making the clip flatter, so giving more clearance. Don't go made, 5 to 10 rubs on the oil stone is normally enough. Repeat this process with the other circlips then refit them all. Next take a hammer and strike the yolks where the circlips are with 1 reasonable tap while holding the shaft free of the ground. This moves the cups into contact with the circlips, giving the necessary running clearance.

9.99 for a pair... LOLenough said..

All joking aside have you done a UJ before ? I ask simply as when I did my first one of the little roller bearings dropped out and wedged in the bottom of the socket meaning I couldn't get the circlip in and it was tight like you mentioned.

Probably not the cause but I thought worth mentioning... I greased them well to hold them in.

that's OK yes have done the other 2 on my prop and all went well

even with 1 cir-clip in the other end is still prod off the yoke
