Problem with brakes

So yesterday I noticed a grinding noise coming from my brakes. Went out to inspect it today and noticed a groove in my N/S/F brake disc.

Any idea what caused it?

worn out pads

I had all 4 tyres replaced recently, would have thought they would have mentioned it so that's why I didn't immediately think it would be that.

Which discs/pads would ya recommend?

what ever your motor factors compter says

britpart discs about £10 each plus lockheed pads £16

Just ordered some mintex discs & pads from Paddocks. Cost £71 but at least I know it's half decent.

what make are paddocks selling? britpart do do some poor parts but there brake discs i have found very good quality and i probably fit more than most on here to make comparisons ,ive fitted them to all types of lrs and never had a problem,if i thought they where poor i wouldnt have suggested them

check vin no in window is it 1A or YA

They look like the earlier solid discs - I am guessing your TD4 will be the later vented ones.

I've now ordered these:

Front Discs and Pads Kit Mintex - Freelander from 1A000001

I also emailed them and put a note in my new order asking for my previous order to be cancelled. Hopefully they won't send me both!
