Hello folks, can anyone tell me a fair price to offer for a 1999 Freelander 1.8xei station wagon, Lpg coverted 90ltr withh 86000 miles. New head gasket & cam belt & tensioners. Also what is the rough miles per ltr or per 90ltr.

i wud respectfully suggest yu check the gaylander forum.

look up freelander faults and maybe :search: for HGF or VCU or IRD or just crap mite work.

Stopped at a Polish car wash and one of the lads was impressed with my td4...he had a 1.8 and concurred it was crap.

Whit a nice fella..

ok thanx i`l forget freelanders ! Cheers

Wooooaaaahhhh, Slow down cowboy. No need to forget the Freelander altogether, Just go for a diesel either Td4 or earlier L-series. Still have to regularly check your VCU but they're good cars as long as you buy sensibly.

if yu have to have a freelander thena doozil is the way to go. Still have probs - but at least a lot less injun ones.

better still - get a disco or defender

lpg conversionson the on whole dont work to well on smaller engined cars as the lpg dosn't produce as much power as petrol and the freelander is a bit heavy.
the best you could expect would be about thirty to the gallon taking it steady 50-55mph
Also there are some dodgy conversions get it checked by a Auto Gas installer .
And a tank in the boot space restricts your carrying ability ,under floor is better but smaller.
On ebay a conversion of this sort is about £1700 drive in drive out
Some here would say thats probably more than a freelander is worth
but dont let that put you off .
Iv'e had lpg for a while now and at 39p a ltr its cut my fuel bill by at least 50%:)
you pays your money you take your choice
just remember its not a GP car!
