P38A P38 window switch swap

Hey guys,

kids were good to me this Christmas and got me what I wanted, a window switch pack

Issue is it’s not the sunroof model, so has a dummy switch in this position.

Can anyone tell me if I’ll need to return this and get the correct one or can I salvage the button from the pack I’m going to strip (it’s currently working)

Yes you can transfer the switch but it's not a switch assembly as you know it but a button frame and 2 contact blisters that are held in place with a fancy sort of sellotape. Your current switch pack can almost certainly be fixed by dismantling duff switches and cleaning the contact points.

Update

So got a chance this morning to strip out the old window switch and using the you tube video followed the boys instructions.

DONE!

Original unit now back in fully working order.
Relatively easy with the video as a working tuition.
