P38 Tail gate straps

Hi Guys,
The left hand tail gate strap snapped today and looking on line there seems a crazy difference between the aftermarket price of part no ALR 5237 .
Island 4 x 4 price £13.13p each plus p&p. Rimmerbros £34 57p for the genuine part. I always tend to go for genuine parts, but is it really worth paying that much extra for what is essentially a piece of twisted wire.
Any advise or previous experience with this aftermarket part would be appreciated. Yes I know if they both break a new lower tail gate would be megga bucks.!

I've got the cheaper ones on mine - no problems.
The difference now is that, having had an original one fail, I check and grease them regularly.

Got mine from Island 4x4 last March and still ok, takes the weight of two adults fine.

As said above, I got mine from Island 4x4 last year as-well, the reason they rust out is when the tailgate is shut they are sat right where the water is channelled off of the roof.
I now do the same as dogsbody, check and grease them regularly.
I have had no problems since.
