Still toying up which Diagnostic Device to look into, and Datatek seems quite keen on waiting for the Nanocom Evolution II for the P38.

I have been searching for info and whilst in this search found these - maybe y'all seen these vids before, but I have to say I am quite intrigued....

Anyone know when this will be available and roughly what sort of price???

Does look very user friendly although I think I would have to go back to school to learn what all the different values actually mean:confused:

I think I read some where it goes on sale in the early part of next year and should be less than the current faultmate, but I guess if it wasn't nobody would buy it.

The P38 version of Nanocom is in test at the moment, due for release mid January assuming testing goes to plan. For the price, google Nanocom, you will see it is already available for the Disco and some other LR products, I would guess the price will be similar:)

Im quite interested in the door loking feature...sounds interesting.

Personaly, I would rather one of these..

I like the look of the nanocom, as in the market for a diagnostic tool for my P38, however, are they vehicle or VIN locked? I.e. is it like the Hawkeye where I could use on any P38 or the MVS where its only good for my vehicle?

Words from the BBS owner:

"The new P38 coverage was only added on the BBS V1.04 firmware for the Nanocom Evolution released on Dec 23rd 2011 and although we have done extensive testing, we are still going to be conducting a few weeks of Beta Testing it in the field before adding it to our web sites shop.

When added, we will be following the existing Nanocom Evolution licensing in adding to the existing Motronic, the GEMS and EDC Engine managements for approx 40 GBP each.

The remaining eleven P38 systems of the 3 possible types of Airbag system, 2 possible types of ABS system, 2 possible types of Automatic Gearbox ECU, Electronic Air Suspension, Hevac, Body Control (BeCM) and Cruise control will be under one license which will cost approx 80 GBP, which is due to the number and complexity.

So a kit for any P38 will only cost about 40 GBP more than one for a Disco II or Defender etc, effectively around the 300 GBP area and of course the other EMS's ECU's can be added if desired. And of course this system is not SV and so is not locked to VIN."
