P38 into 07' Sport !!

I found another website by pure chance the other day Pimp My Range. P38, Sport and L322 Land Rover Range Rovers which appear to use Range Rover Sport grilles and lights when doing their conversions. Prices aren't bad for back and front conversions....especially compared to Range Rover Body Kits and Upgrade Kit, Wheel, Modifications, Accessories etc

There is one company you can ask if everything from a sport fits the P38 and thats rangeover, don't get involved with P38 conversions now as i have the
L322, did the conversion putting the 07 headlights on that and front grill. There are quite a few companies doing the P38 conversion but can start to work out expensive and for what it was going to cost, i decided to buy the
L322. My P38 was very reliable and rarely went wrong.

The problem of an L322 now is TAX, £440 a year......that's why I have looked into conversion kits.

Adamforeman got that right about there prices if they could just make up there minds how much things cost. Prices never come down, just up-up and up! and thats over the phone in a couple of days.

It's not gone up just yet but probably will i know. i nearly fitted the TD6 diesel into my P38, but when i test drove the L322 it's comfort was outstanding, thats also something to consider as there is a company who does it in Ireland. The tax eventually might even hit P38s yet. The thing is i found, when you buy a newer model, the misus always says don't touch this one leave it alone, but does one listen!!!! hence the headlights from the 07 upgraded sat/nav and roof antenna and i can recommend a remap coming out of Matlock, Derbyshire

you don't like £400+ a year for tax but your willing to put down over £1,000 on trying to make the front of your P38 into something that its not... Thats 2 years tax for your L322 right there.

How many new range rovers do we all pass on the roads, all day every day?

100's a day without exaggeration.

How many P38's do you pass on a daily basis?

For me 1 or 2.

Does anyone think that having one of these kits fitted and painted is really a financially viable option.

They can be very impressive when fitted and painted to a high standard, but why make your P38 look like a more common new shape. Or have it look as though something is always aesthetically not correct when its seen parked next to a newer one.

Headlight conversions on their own, look terrible, they are just the wrong shape to work with the lines on a P38

There are lots of aftermarket grill's available for the P38 now and they do help change front end appearance and bring it up to date. (I have 1 fitted)
Sport side vents are also an option (fitted these also) and not to difficult to do. (wouldnt bother with the fitting CD and template from Ebay though, as its not the correct size or exact shape)

Aftermarket or new style alloys assist greatly aswell.

I cant offer any suggestions on the rear end though (have seen one fitted with a spoiler from a sport, but wasnt sure about it) as I dont think they are dated and personally its one of my favourite views of mine.

That's not a particularly good arguement, that's £440 EVERY year remember, a one of payment that changes the look of a car is exactly that....a ONE off payment.

Has my private plate on it now mate.

Yours will still look like a P38 with a front or rear end conversion.

Or a newer model with something visually wrong with it.

But lets say you do the conversion are you still going to have the same P38 in 2 years time especially with the way fuel prices are going etc etc.

To be honest I think I shall always hate the conversions, I have only ever seen one in real life and it was coming towards me, I had to do a double take and nearly crashed through a hedge at how fecking ugly the thing looked, its all completely out of proportion and you would end up parking next to an L322 at some point and just think 'what have I done?!'.

Just buy a L322 if you want the L322 look!

The problem is, it's mostly Sports on the road that you see, not ACTUAL Ranger Rovers. Probably because they're cheaper and most people can't tell the difference.

Personally, I'm quite happy about my P38. As someone said before, you don't see a lot of them on the road nowadays. I'm more than happy to let mine look like it was supposed to, even if some people think it's dated. CLASSIC! Dont ruin it!

I have just fitted supercharged headlights and supercharged grill to my range rover 4.6.

how do yu supercharge a headlight or a grill? does it cook wit gas?

hi kev,was it an easy job,where did you get the parts and how much.

Bit of a pain to fit headlights alot of cutting,wiring easy,had to cut the grill down and shorten it as it was to wide,bought headlights off flebay for less than £200 and £100 for the grill.....
