Hi all, new to RR ownership and 1 month in I have a problem! I know it's a poor show, but I'm currently on an Easter break with the family, so I'm going to lead with my problem, and will create a hello this is me post this afternoon.

Drove down to clacton from Milton Keynes on Thursday and my eas fault light had been on. All of a sudden the car started to squat down to it's bumpstops, and the max speed 35mph light came on.

Called the AA, but no disrespect to them, I didn't think they would be able to help wi an eas fault. They did however very kindly put my family in a hotel for the night.

To surmise, I'm in clacton with my wife and two kids 1 and 2 years old, and no method of getting home come Monday. No land rover dealers or specialists that can help (I've called everyone in Essex it would seem) so wondering if there are any local kind hearted souls that may have a diagnostics cable that would in exchange for beer and huge amounts of gratitude pop over, take alookat the faults, and perhaps perform a reset to allow me to inflate and at east get home.

I know it's a poor show, first post and asking for help, but these are somewhat desperate times. Happy to return a legal or commercial favour in the future.

Aaron

Not a good idea to post your phone number on an open forum.
You could drive home on the bump stops as a last resort, uncomfortable but possible.
If you are in the AA do you not have recovery? Go home on the back of one of their trucks.
I'm too far away to offer direct help, but I can supply the EAS software and cable for future problems.

I will be interested in purchasing when we get back. If you could pm me some details that wou,d be great.

I can't drive it on the bumpstops with the kids, they will be shaken apart, especially considering as I probably shouldn't attempt motorway speeds.

AA can recover me, however it would be a huge ball ache for the family.

Its actually smoother on the motorway and you can manage 50mph with no real issues. Just take it slow on the minor roads. I drove mine from Windsor to Newark on the bumps a few years back without too much drama.

drove mine on the bumpstops from kent to marlborough in wiltshire whilst towing a suzuki vitara on an a frame! motorways are fine and can cruise at 50-60mph as they are not to bumpy!!!!

Sorry can't help with kit as I sold all mine when I bought my x5 but I would speak to Dave at four wheel drive services 01206 395768 . He's about half hour drive from clacton over at Brantham mill and has full diagnostics..failing that try Adam Ferguson on horse lane industrial estate, not a specialist, but a top guy 01255 479800

Righto sorry guys I've got somthing on tomorrow that I just can't get out of. Likewise Landy is not Motd otherwise I'd happily sit behind you all the way back. Eas fault no idea I think kris has tech to diagnose kris has a recovery truck as well.

Will see if I can get out of tomorrows duties might be able to come down possibly but looks very very unlikley

To be hinest this is a long trek for any of us herts lot. Would be happy to help if I knew what I was doing but three hour drive to kick a couple of tyres seems a little disingenuous to the chap.

I temt to agree with previous posts.... drive it on the bumps gently or get a free ride home on the back of a towtruck -

Not meaning to be negative but I see it ias the best of a bad lot of choices!

tend to agree - cant raise any of the Essex crew and certainly not any with Rangie diagnostics :(.

ifthe guy has AA , wont they recover to home?

hi im in clacton as well i got a eas kicker which reset the suspension and hopefully help it raise unless theres a major fault if you pm your number can meet up and try it for you

Chaps, thank you for all the feedback. I would never expect anyone to drive for hours to help. As mentioned, as a last resort I do have the AA that can recover myself and the family home, however I thought I would chance my arm, and see if there was anybody 5 10 mins away that wouldn't mind taking a look if they had diagnostics.

Once again, thanks for the positives so far, I'm going to hang about till midday, then if no joy, I'll start the limp process home.

Great forum btw, properly helpful.

Don't forget, it is suggested that yu put your location in your userCP and sign up for the rescue service. Yu never know when it's payback time ;).

Notice yu only have 3 posts.... Hopefully yu will be more involved in future.

New to the forum as only had my RR for 1 month! I knew what I was getting into though. I am going to post up a proper hello when I get home.

I use piston heads, and didn't know this place existed until someone on there posted me a link. Bloody pleased I found this site though, had a scan through some of the posts and I can see that I will learn so much from the site.

Frustrating really as I wanted to have a proper read, but was getting a few glares from the other half! Think I'll have to save researching the site for the train to work tomorrow!

What is the rescue service? Always up for helping an enthusiast, and even though it's let me down so soon, I have really started to fall for my kittle rangie.
