If you change the door lock no it won't. Just get a service key made to suit the new lock barrel for use in emergencies. The EKA code can be entered with that if needed or on your car with a Nanocom. Fobs should sync in ignition.

Great. Went outside to try look at lock again ... Can't open runny door from inside either now ,,, so car handle failed and inner handle failed too. ... Is there any way of entry without smashing door card to bits ? Not having much luck ,,

Never thought of that 1. Snowing now so will try later... Not sure what I'm hooking but I'm sure I'll see something. Thanks Again

Had this awhile ago with another owner.

Buy a passenger door handle complete, and a drivers door cam kit (STC3064) as you need to damage the original one to get the handle out - but this also repair's the bit where it doesn't always retract fully.

You can actually replace just the pull handle part, and the driver/passenger side pull handle are identical.

This thread:
http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/7-...2-definitive-fix-stiff-p38a-door-handles.html

Has a good pictorial guide of the cam kits and replacing them to fix the stiffness/jutting out of the handles - but with the cam unit removed, you can fully remove the main door handle and swap it over for a non-broken one. You might even find on yours that it's the cam part which has failed and the handle is actually OK - but if you have a replacement then you're set anyway. A passenger handle will probably be cheaper, as you won't have to buy key/ignition and all that...

The back part of the handle with the lock barrel etc can be used with the new handle, to then keep everything original.

Hope this helps.

See the part number of the cam kit I listed up in the other post - that's what's missing from your picture...

if you thing the nub on the end of the handle is too worn, then as I mentioned, the actual pull handle part can be swapped out.

I am back home on the 10th Feb - so if you don't have it sorted by then, let me know and you can send all the bits to me and I can fix it for you and send the repaired handle back.

Cheers for that ive progressed ..purchased a cheapy iff fkeabay for 30 quid ..drilled out the pin and inserted new parts to my lock ...hope i can put door back together now lol

Glad it's sorted!
The actual cam kit, (new) for the door with roll pin is only about £5 from Island 4x4 or LR Direct though!
