Click is the solenoid pulling the bendix in that should make the main terminals. Unless the starter has a dead short the lamps should not dim. Could be starter, but lamps dimming engaging starter is classic of a duff battery cell or a bad connection. Feel if any of the terminals are getting warm.

thanx guys, gotta go to work now…. back in 2 weeks, will try new battery then,

your help is most appreciated, shaun..

a little trip to rome n' back…. about 8-10 days… nothing too stressful… !! on music tours…. can be out for up to 4 months…

i'll post the result….. soonish…!

thanx again.. S.

hi all… update… ! .. it was the starter motor… fixed…………… ! so… i'm driving on m25… slow…. bleep!..etc….. my arse is 8" lower … 35mph…etc…! now i'm on coil springs…!
ecu fkt'd … needed 4 new air bags too.. so… its not better.. or worse… different.. it corners better, tho more vibration, not much tho, you feel the road a little more thru the steering wheel, and…!! it over steers…. caught me out a few times… its learning to walk in new shoes… yeah.. its fun, i'll write more as i get more time in the rr, i have one tight country road in mind, 12 miles of white knuckle ride… the springs are bearmach, standard rated, and terrafirma gas dampers, much firmer ride, still "tramlines", any ideas on that?… laters..

Would have been cheaper to fix the EAS, highly unlikely the ECU was at fault.
Tramlining will be track rod/drag link ends, ball joints etc, or tyre type and tyre pressures.
